Was searching for stuff (the plural of stuff is not 'stuffs') on net and this is where I landed
http://gimmeyourstuff.blogspot.com/.
The basic idea is that one can basically exchange thoughts and material objects(not particularly in that order) with people from other countries. Now this is a real cool initiative to make new acquaintances and also, get to know about things which would not be possible in the cocoon right now am trapped in.

I wish to venture on a world tour someday (especially to the country sides- inspired by movie 'The MotorCycle Diaries' ), but away from places that are crowded with people on a similar quest. (Let me know if anyone is interested in the same or is willing to sponsor)
Here's some things I can offer for a swap:

onlyto homosapiens of thefemalemale kind) - bindi (a small sticker thats placed on the forehead)
- spices and herbal teas
- Indian
candies, snacks & sweets(hope they reach before getting infested or devoured mid-way) - religious, cultural & Bollywood music (cds/
tapes) - fabrics (t-shirts with images of 'Om' and may be Hindu God-Goddess, Historical Places)
- photos/postcards
- wooden carvings
- Indian ornaments/ souvenirs
- coins/ stamps
and a million other things if they don't cost me a million or anywhere close to it !! .............
Here's my partial wish list: (view complete wishlist)
Here's my partial wish list: (view complete wishlist)
- tee-shirts (with images or funny tag-lines or both)
- chocolates
- post/greeting cards
- souvenirs
- free return-tickets to your place (Joke)
- a video camera (AM SERIOUS)
- sponsor my world tour (COULDN'T BE MORE SERIOUS)
- and last but not the least, White/Black/Brown/Yellow chick(s)... let me know if they come in any other color (Another JOKE, but to be taken seriously)
Well, hope this swap-site helps lessen xenophobia and brings people closer irrespective of their color/culture/religion/nationality/race/class/educational qualification/economic condition/marital status/sense of humor/intelligence and all other definitions of distinction. Well, am I imagining things.. guess not..listen to the song Imagine (performed by John Lennon) and you will figure out yourself.
Forgot to add...'Wife Swap' is my favorite reality show..check it out on 'Discovery-Travel and Living' channel. It showcases stories of families temporarily subjected to cross-cultural exchange and the only controversial thing about the show is its title....it doesn't live up to it in totality.cheers !!

Hi there -
Thanks for the swap invite but unfortunately, I am currently swap swamped! Maybe some other time?
However, you asked about free site counters and here are some to pick from:
1.) Clustr Map - free, inserts a world map and marks it when people visit:
http://clustrmaps.com/
2.) http://www.statcounter.com/ - also free.
3.) http://www.sitemeter.com/ - free
You sign up and then they give you the html code that you insert into your template.
Good luck!

sugar, this thing u say about bangles being only for females...u missed out the 'third sex', very well recognised in Indian culture and history. the reading i am doing on gender made me realise that sex as biological and gender as "social-cultural" construct is something that needs to come into mainstream consciousness
cheers!
thanks for bringing out the point..have made corrections

Hello, If you would like stuff from California, contact me at painter@garlic.com. We live in Gilroy, the garlic capitol of the world. I could get you some awesome garlicy tshirts. I am interested in trading for fabric for a sari, or traditional food stuffs. I am learning to cook Indian food and I really like how the spices don't burn you but warm you with a wild variety of flavors.
